Wayne Clark has been an active force in Maryland Archeology for a long period. He was active in the negotiations with Mrs. Jefferson Patterson pursuant to giving her property, Point Farm, to the State of Maryland as a park and museum, preserving the many archeological sites on the property. He also worked with the Maryland General Assembly to find the funds for the design and creation of the now world-renowned MAAC lab. He became the founding director of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum and served in that capacity from 1983 to 1995. From 1995 to 2006 he was the founding chief of the MHT Office of Museum Services
